Leocadio Galán Barrena

He entered the seminary in 1919 and was ordained a priest in 1932. He begins his pastoral ministry as coadjutor in the parish of Alcuéscar. In 1944 he became parish priest. There he remained for thirty-two years, caring above all for the sick. He will be remembered for his action in favor of the anointing of the sick.

He is involved in the formation of the members of Catholic Action, to which he devotes most of his time. We owe him a week of Catholic Action celebrated in March 1935, which was the basis for the foundation of the CA in various parishes. In 1940 he founded the religious institute Esclavos de María y de los pobres. He becomes bishop of Coria¬Cáceres.
