BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES AND PROCEDURE OF THE CAUSE

Margherita Brassetti

March 25, 1877, Cagliari - April 17, 1927, Triora

1877 (March 25) Born in Cagliari; his father Gerolamo descends from a distinguished Genoese family, his mother Aurelia Rossi is a native of Rio Marina (Elba Island).
In 1884, she moved to Turin with her family after her mother's premature death and her father's second marriage. Her stepmother's repeated hostility forced her to stay at the boarding school of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, where she had already been attending school.
1901 She arrives in Triora, a small village in the mountainous hinterland of Liguria, where she carries out an intense religious and social apostolate for the local female youth, founding several female congregations including the Company of the Daughters of Mary.
1910 He founded the Pious Association of the Holy Tabernacles, also known as the Sacramentine Congregations, which welcomed women who remained unmarried.
1920: Catholic Action of Triora is officially founded. Margherita attends diocesan congresses, participates in meetings, and obeys when the Bishop sends her to Rome to represent the same diocesan council of Ventimiglia.
1927 He died at the age of 50, on Easter Sunday.
Margherita Brassetti embodies and lives, in the complexity of her personality, an experience certainly worthy of being told, perhaps even meditated upon.
Margherita Brassetti, throughout her life, espoused a lifestyle that offers a particularly harsh, but no less authentic, interpretation of the motto that has long characterized the essence of Catholic Action: Prayer, Action, Sacrifice.
Margherita's life was one of prayer: a life that, in essence, became prayer, in a daily, continuous immersion and loss, first with the mind and then with the heart, within the Mystery of God.
Margherita's life was one of sacrifice and action, aimed at giving profound meaning to an existential choice: to be in the world to practice and live all those virtues that the lay condition allows one to exercise and put into practice.
