1927 (February 27) he was born in Torretta di Possidente, a hamlet in the municipality of Avigliano, the first of eight children of Antonio D'Andrea and Maria Carmela Bochicchio.
1935 (May 26) on the occasion of the coronation of the image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Avigliano, he receives the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation
1947 he was president of the Giac (Italian Youth of Catholic Action) of Possidente.
1955 he married Vita Crescenzia Iannielli.
The marriage produced six children. After the first few years of marriage, the family moved to Potenza.
In 1972 he was elected president of Catholic Action in the Parish of Santa Maria del Sepolcro in Potenza.
1986-88 he was diocesan vice-president of Catholic Action.
In 1988 he was ordained deacon by the Archbishop of Potenza, Monsignor Giuseppe Vairo.
2005 (September 30) struck by a cerebral hemorrhage while on his way to the Lavangone district for Holy Mass, he died in the hospital of Potenza after an agony lasting 13 days.
Together with his wife Vita, Franco D'Andrea implemented a concrete model of a domestic church, in which prayer, particularly the daily recitation of the Rosary, the reading of the Word of God, and the grace flowing from the sacramental celebration, not only marked and colored the different moments of the day, not only accompanied the growth of the family community, which was progressively enriched with new faces and new voices, but also contributed to the maturation of that wisdom of the heart that can lead everything back into the fold of Providence and purifies the soul, free from any thirst for power and self-interest.
Thus, faith rooted in God, unshakeable trust in His Providence, and work lived with commitment and faithfulness have been able to expand the spaces of communion and fatherhood, opening this family more and more each day to care for the least and to participation in the life and mission of the Church.
They were years of grace and enthusiasm, years that decisively shaped the human and Christian lives of many couples, and the lives of numerous families in this and other ecclesial communities. The D'Andrea home was a privileged place of encounter and prayer for all. The serene and welcoming smiles of the hosts exalted a deep serenity, revealing an extraordinary inner balance: everyone could hear a sincere and cordial word of welcome, of encouragement, of hope; for each, an invitation to place the Lord Jesus and his Word at the center of their personal and family life.
