Mechanical engineer, protagonist of the post-war reconstruction among the homeless of his native Rimini, Alberto Marvelli lived his lay vocation to the fullest, combining an assiduous life of faith with direct political and social commitment.
His human adventure, through the fascinating narration of these pages, reveals itself as an irresistible appeal towards a 'high standard of ordinary Christian life' especially for young people (NMI).
Young among the young, in love with life, with men, with God, Alberto made himself present among the poor and the suffering, in the oratories and in the school, among those evicted in the war and university students. He lived the great historical events of the time as a protagonist, prophetically anticipating the role and vocation of the lay Christian proposed by the Second Vatican Council. He was beatified by John Paul II in September 2004 in Loreto.
