«Blessed Jesus, we know, he died one day, and he died that day for everyone. His death, amid atrocious sufferings, had the power to redeem all men. Saying: Do this in remembrance of me, He thought of each one of us, of all the individual faithful who from the first apostles would have succeeded in the centuries until the expiration of the centuries, and He wished that each and every one in particular could - with a tear to the laws of time and distance - witness that scene in which Love and death gave each other the supreme kiss for the salvation of man: the tragic scene of Calvary»
